Commitment

January 2022

As I think about our Commitment theme for January, it seems the term “commitment” is woven throughout many aspects of MidState Skin Institute. First and foremost, I think of our commitment to provide amazing patient care. As indicated in our mission statement, we want to exceed the expectations of our patients and their referring physicians. We continually look for ways to improve ourselves and to make the experience better for the patients.

When I am looking for new staff members to join our team, commitment certainly comes into play in that area as well. I want to make sure that applicants are passionate enough about patient care to be a part of our team for the long haul. As we perform purposeful and fulfilling work, we become a connected work family all working towards a common goal.

I also see commitment in our patients on a daily basis. Some have made the decision to take care of their skin issue by seeking treatment and prevention. Others seek to improve concerns by utilizing our latest products and procedures. It isn’t always easy making time in your day for a skin care routine, but if you make it important you will see positive results. Patients make the commitment to be healthy and feel good about their skin which starts with scheduling those regular exam appointments and by committing to wear SPF daily.

I urge you to think about what is important to you and whole-heartedly commit to it. That dedication is what gives depth to things you do. Whether it be something big – like a company owner ensuring his/her staff is treated well, or something small – like deciding to follow through on skin care routines and treatments, commitment brings about action. Without action, there is only interest or hope. It’s the commitment that will ensure success because if something doesn’t work, you will find a way to make it work when there is commitment.
