Your teen is going through an exciting time, but we at MidState understand it can be hard for teens who suffer from acne and many other skin conditions. Early intervention is the key to maintaining not only healthy skin, but good mental health for your teen. Early treatments can prevent complications like dark spots, deep scarring and discoloration. For teens who don’t suffer from acne, we have many options like facials, dermaplaning and laser hair removal that can address a plethora of concerns!

Facials

Perfect for any skin type! Facials can address concerns like oily skin, blemishes, texture and treatments like extractions, dermaplaning and LED Light Therapy can be added.

Microneedling

Microneedling uses tiny needles to help deliver products into the skin. This helps the skins tone and texture and can help minimize the appearance of pores, acne scars and melasma.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is quick and painless, and can not only reduce or eliminate the need to shave but help with your teens mental health to remove unwanted and embarrassing hair. This year-round laser can be completed in a few treatments and shaving will become a thing of the past!

TheraClearX

TheraClearX is an in-office treatment that combines a gentle vacuum with a broadband light for the treatment of mild-to-moderate acne, including comedonal, pustular, and inflammatory acne vulgaris. It can be used on the face, back and chest and is a comfortable treatment that doesn’t require any pre-medication. There’s no downtime, so you can schedule your teens treatment and drop them off at football after!

LED Light Therapy

A non-invasive treatment in which light is absorbed by the molecules in the skin which can speed up the healing of blemishes and more. Light therapy treats various skin conditions and concerns such as acne. The different wave lengths at varying depths stimulate different cellular targets to help repair the skin and help treat a range of issue. This can be done year-round, and can be added to treatments like microdermabrasion and facials.

Must have products

SPF should be your BFF! EltaMD’s UV Clear is a favorite of ours for a few reasons. First of all, it’s a broad spectrum mineral SPF so that means you aren’t putting harmful chemicals on your face. Second of all, it’s got 5% niacinamide to help reduce the appearance of blemishes and discoloration on your skin, meaning it’s great for acne prone skin. It also comes in a tinted SPF, so you can ditch the makeup on the weekends but still get a little coverage.

Cleansing your skin is a crucial part to eliminating bacterial and harmful pollutants that you encounter every day. You don’t have to get fancy when you’re choosing a cleanser, one of our favorite cleansers is CeraVe’s Acne Foaming Cream Face Cleanser. The key to a good cleanser for acne prone skin is looking for benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Another one that’s great for all skin types is EltaMD’s Foaming Facial Cleanser. A gentle enzyme and amino acid blend loosens makeup, oil and other impurities on the skin and in the pores. The thick, rich foam gently cleanses leaving your skin feeling clean and balanced.
