Dr. John Mavropolous, also known as Dr. Mav, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with specialized expertise in the precise removal of skin cancer while preserving surrounding healthy tissue and optimizing cosmetic results. Dr. Mavropolous is a proud member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and has dedicated his career to advancing the field of Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive dermatologic surgery.

Dr. Mavropolous earned his medical degree from Duke University before completing his dermatology residency at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Following residency, Dr. Mavropolous pursued an intensive one-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he honed his skills in skin cancer treatment and reconstructive techniques.

Dr. Mavropolous is an expert in treating basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and certain melanomas using the Mohs surgical technique, which ensures the highest cure rates with minimal tissue removal. His meticulous approach emphasizes both functional preservation and aesthetic outcomes, ensuring that patients not only receive effective treatment but also maintain the best possible cosmetic results.
