is a native Floridian and grew up in northern Marion County. She moved to Tampa to pursue her undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida’s Honor College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. From there, she enrolled in Florida State University’s College of Medicine, where she successfully completed her graduate medical studies.
Dr. Cauthen is married to her high school sweetheart, Thomas Cauthen, who has worked tirelessly to help her launch MidState Skin Institute, a dream she’s had for many years. The couple is blessed with two beautiful, energetic children, Madison and Brody.
was born and raised in the bluegrass state of Kentucky. After graduating from Bowling Green High, Dr. Doshi embarked on an educational adventure. His first stop was the nation’s capital where he completed a combined B.A./M.D. program at The George Washington University. As a University Honors Program Scholar, Dr. Doshi majored in religious studies. This major gave him a deep understanding of all faiths and the culture and history that intertwine with their respective believers. After graduating GW medical school, Dr. Doshi made stops in Boston, MA where he completed his intern year, then a move to the midwest where he completed clinical research in malignant melanoma and cutaneous T-Cell lymphoma at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. For his dermatology residency, his eyes were set on the Big Apple and counts himself lucky to have matched and trained at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. After residency, Dr. Doshi returned to the south and completed a specialized fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Procedural Dermatology in Georgia.
Dr. Doshi’s primary interest lies in the detection, prevention and treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer and malignant melanoma. He is one of a select few physicians in north central Florida that have been fellowship-trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the single most effective surgical treatment of Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
is from the small town of Dodge City, Kansas. He graduated with highest distinction from The University of Kansas and graduated at the top of his class from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he was the recipient of many awards and an NIH-funded scholarship at the KU Cancer Center to conduct a study in cancer metastasis. He was inducted into the prestigious alpha omega honor society. He completed his internship at the famous Harvard training hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital in Pediatrics. Dr. Shaath completed his dermatology residency at Florida State University where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Shaath’s contributions to the field of dermatology are vast. He is the founder of the dermatology educational company, Derm Educate. This website serves as a resource for dermatology resident physicians who are training to become board-certified dermatologists. He is also the author of a major dermatology resource called “Dermatology Pocket Guide” which serves as a pocket reference guide for dermatologists and dermatology PAs. Additionally, he has contributed to the field by writing many published articles in the field of dermatology and is also the author of a chapter in a dermatology textbook.
is a second generation Ocala native. She graduated from University of Florida with both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing. Prior to coming to Midstate Skin, Katie worked at Shands at the University of Florida on the Burn Intensive Care Unit. It was there that Katie’s passion for skin continued as she saw patients with not only severe burn wounds but also a wide variety of dermatological conditions. Katie is married to her high school sweetheart, Tyler Keel. They have a sweet baby boy named Camden. She was very excited to join Midstate Skin and is loving every minute working at her dream job! She has been a great asset to our team.
is a native Floridian and grew up in South Florida. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Florida, a Master’s of Clinical Medical Science Degree and Physician Assistant certificate from Barry University in Miami Shores. Stacey had been practicing dermatology since 2006. She received extensive training in general dermatology, Mohs surgery and cosmetics in the greater Miami area for over 6 years. She has spent the last few years practicing general dermatology in Ocala. She enjoys spending her free time with her English Bulldog Bailey and her family that is scattered all over the state of Florida. She is ecstatic to join our team here at MidState and work side by side with friends while doing what she loves.
is an Ocala native. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Florida. She then went straight into her Physician Assistant studies at Nova Southeastern University in Orlando, Florida. Prior to working at MidState Skin Institute she was working in Orlando where she obtained training and knowledge in general dermatology and surgery. She is very excited to have joined the MidState team and expand her training and knowledge into cosmetics. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her labradoodle Miller, family, and friends.
was born and raised in Ocala, Fl. She grew up in a little town called Citra north of Ocala. She has known Dr. Cauthen, her husband and his family for most of her life. She is very excited to have joined their team as Midstate Skin’s Esthetician.
Anna received her Esthetician license in 2006 and has enjoyed continuing her education through many trainings and skincare classes every chance she gets! She has continued her training not only on facials, peels and skincare but also on microderabrasion, medical peels and laser treatments. Anna enjoys helping patients with their skincare concerns and needs but also to help them look and feel their best with her knowledge and passion for skin!
